Uttar Pradesh · Bundelkhand
Mahoba District
Headquarters: Mahoba
Mahoba was a capital of the Chandela kings and is the land of the legendary warrior brothers Alha and Udal, whose ballad, the Alha-Khand, is still sung across North India. The Chandela-built lakes of Kirat Sagar and Madan Sagar, the Kajli fair, and Mahoba's famous betel leaf keep its heritage alive.
