Isuri (1800–1870) was a renowned folk poet of Bundelkhand who composed in the Bundeli dialect. Born in Majhgawan village in Jhansi district, he is best known for his "Faag" (Holi songs) and romantic poetry. His verses celebrate the beauty of Bundelkhand, its seasons, and the love story with his muse Rajja. His poetry captures the rural life, emotions, and natural beauty of the region. He is considered the most important poet of Bundeli literature and his songs are still sung during festivals across the region.
